Under 20s face Mauritania in first round of 2019 CAN U20 Qualifiers

Mustapha Madih have called up 23 players for the first qualifing round of the 2019 African Under 20’s Cup of Nations.

Saturday at 17:30 GMT, Morocco’s Under 20 national team will face Mauritania in the first round of the 2019 AFCON U20, which will be hosted in Niger next year. This will be the first of two legs, played in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott. The return leg is scheduled for the weekend of April 20th. If Morocco were to go through, they will face Guinea in the next qualifying round – a team who participated in last year’s edition of FIFA U20 World Cup.

Coach Mustapha Madih have called up 23 players, most of them playing for local clubs in Morocco. FUS Rabat are heavily represented, with a total of eight players called up(!), while the praised Mohammed VI Academy have Aymane Mourid in the squad. Six players play abroad, including forward Moha Sanhaji from Numancia – the same club as goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi:
